Lagos is a major tourist attraction in Southern Portugal. It has brilliant rock formations and beautiful beaches. Bus facility can be availed from Avenida dos Descobrimentos and it will take you all the way along the dunes. There are a lot of restaurants which line these dunes.
Your next stop should totally be Ponta da Piedade which can be translated as Point of Pity. There is too many color forming in this area, from ochre to gold and this looks even more gorgeous when sun rays hit the waters. This is spectacular, to say the least. You should do kayaking as well so that you can have a better view of the rock formations. It is a beautiful landscape. There will be craggy pillars and hidden caverns. Last but not least, there is a lighthouse and if you can go beforehand and book your place there, you can watch the sun going down over the western Algarve coast.
Igreja de Santo António/Museu Municipal should be your next stop for you need a break from all that beauty and give yourself some real lessons of history. So, visit the church of St. Anthony and town’s municipal museum. This museum is a mixture of various odd elements. There is Roman mosaic. There are baroque styled gilded wood cravings and there is mini altarpiece as well which looks fantastic. You can enjoy the classic interior art of Algarve here. This is the most elegant way to end your Lagos tour.
