Accra is Ghana’s capital but that is definitely not the whole story. There is so much more to it. It is a colorful city. The people are lively and live life to the fullest. You can manage most of your tour o foot but it is quite hot and humid. So, in order to keep your hydrated and acclimatize yourself for the first few days, you may take the private vehicle. Make the most of your tour with your visits to the beaches, shopping complexes, eateries, and museums.
The first thing you should check out when you are in Accra is the Labadi beach. The waves are strong so you should preferably take a dip rather than take a swim. Then there are the Rastafarian groups who are playing music for money. You will see men on horsebacks giving free rides to shy women. There will be little boys as well who would be doing acrobatic tricks. All in all, the beach experience will give you one hell of a good time. Late at night, things might get a little rowdy but during the day, it is safe and fun.
Artists Alliance Gallery should be your next stop. This treasure trove is made by Ablade Glover, one of the most recognized artists in Ghana. Plus, you will get to see in this huge building artworks made by other people as well. It can take half a day and even then you would not be able to make the most of it. Admission is free and it is right next to the Labadie beach too. So, you would not have any trouble reaching this place.
Last but not least, make the most of your time in Oxford Street. IN this fancy street, you will see all the best bars, restaurants and eateries of Ghana. Spoil yourself a bit. It makes sense because come on, you are on a holiday.
